The atmosphere was electric as the Komba people celebrated a historic moment—the first time they had a complete Bible in their own language. The Chief of Gbintiri arrived in full regalia, adorned in his majestic Batakari, accompanied by other elders who wore their finest attire.
The Komba people had been blessed with the gospel, but not the Bible in their native language. Recognizing this need, the Lutheran Bible translators, the Evangelical Lutheran Church, and the Ghana Bible Society collaborated to translate the Bible into Komba.
Oneway Africa, having worked closely with the Komba people and dedicated to championing the Bible in audio format for indigenous communities in Northern Ghana, seized this opportunity to partner with the effort. They believed that the Bible should be accessible to everyone, regardless of literacy, as it is written, “faith comes by hearing.”

To make the Bible available to the Komba people, it was launched in two formats: a hardcopy version and an audio version.
In attendance was the first missionary to have lived among the Komba people in the 1980s. His joy was immense as he witnessed the people he had once worked with gaining access to the word of God without any limitations—for both literate and non-literate individuals. There was a Bible for everyone.

Oneway Ministries President Michael Thompson and his wife, Mrs. Rachel Thompson, along with a team, were present to celebrate this remarkable achievement.
The Komba people danced in praise to God, expressing their gratitude for their own Bible.
